Book Design

Book design is more relevant that one can think. When one says "Don't judge a book by its cover," the phrase should only be taken in the context of not judging a person by looks or physical appearance. However, when it comes to books themselves, it is quite natural to judge a book based on its entire packaging. This is the reason why book design is important.
Book design is defined as the art of incorporating not only the design, format and style but also the content and sequence of the components of a book to an organized whole. Hence, when one speaks of book design, one is not merely taking about the front and back cover; it entails everything about the entire book. It is true that the front cover is quite important; after all, a book is identified by its cover, as it indicates the title and the author.
